“So. I’m supposed to just swing my legs up or something?”
I tilted my head, blinking down at Jerielle. She looked at Sythius from the corner of her eyes, skeptical.
“I mean. You could use your wings and just fly up there. I’d think that is more convenient. Wouldn’t you?”
“You know what, Savarrion..." Jerielle grumbled. She narrowed her eyes at me. Then her wings were out, and she was floating to Sythius’s furry back. The vùlp had lowered himself to the ground, so it’d be easier for her to get on. He was large, so she still had to fly several feet before landing on him comfortably.
“Hey, I’m just trying to help. And see, it worked.”
Jerielle waved a dismissive hand. “Well?”
I raised a brow. “Well, what?”
“Are you getting on?”
I chuckled darkly. Leaned in like we were sharing secrets. “Pray tell, Ayella. Getting on what exactly?”
“Mi Roi... your suggestion is—” she trailed off, her cheeks burning. “The vùlp, mi Roi. Getting on the vùlp!”
To my amusement, Sythius laughed. The sound moved the clouds beneath his frame, causing a ripple. I sucked my teeth.
“Disappointing. I thought you’d say something else.”
I winked at her, turning away.
